Influence of the competition on the section growth in Pinus radiata D. Don
Abstract
The objective of this work is to analyse the influence that competition has on the section growth of single trees of Pinus radiata. Thirty plots distributed along the Lugo Province were measured. The influence of the competition was studied on 3 trees per plot, which represent the dominant, intermediate and dominated tree layers. The competitor trees were selected by different selection criteria. Fourteen different competition indexes were studied: nine of them depend on the distance among trees and the other five do not depend on it. These indexes have been matched with nine different selection methods of competitor trees and all of them have been compared using the approach of two growth models in normal section, one potential and the other one exponential.Downloads
