A simple method for assessing the behavior of wood in fire
Abstract
The method described is simple and efficient, based on a control of the weight loss experienced by wood when subjetcted to a source of heat. It determines the basic phenomena involved in wood reaction to fire tests. The percentage of loss weight, in accordance with the testing time of the particular wood, is estimated by a mathematical model which quantifies the above mentioned phenomena, thus enabling studies and comparisons og the behaviour of different species of wood when subjected to fire (poplar, pine and beechwood).Downloads
