Abstract

Growth culmination age in Prosopis flexuosa was estimated using the width of tree rings in 31 basal disks of dominant and codominant trees of native forest in Dry Chaco, Argentina. Volume and basal area incremens were determined from radial increment and alometric parameters relationship. The culmination age for radial increment was 35 years, for basal area increment was 59 years and for commercial volume was greater than 70 years old (DAB greater than 25 cm.). These values suggest that the trees should be felled with more age than the traditional forest management in the region.
