Abstract

The conditions of the services of the wood used in exterior joinery (hazard class 3) make it easily attackable by wood decay and blue-stain fungi. In consequence is necessary a priming preventive treatment, followed by a decorative coating (EN-152, EN-330). In several occasions, the priming treatment applied to the wood can produce some problems of incompatibility with the coating products (lackering, paints and varnishes). In this work has been optimized a methodology to determine the surface coating compatibility with the treated wood. The proposed method permit to quantity the adherence degree of the decorrative products in a simple and precise way.
