Diving into the latest discoveries in plant-pest interactions and the sustainable use of forest genetic resources under climate change

Forest Systems presents a special issue entitled "Adaptation of forests in an unpredictable future: genetic resources facing pests and diseases", honoring the contributions of forest health expert Juan Pajares and forest geneticist Rosario Sierra. We will explore the intricate relationship between trees and pests, gaining insights on how genetics shape the battle between the forests and their biotic and abiotic threats under the ongoing climate change. Internationally leading researchers and research groups will display a wide view on key pests currently affecting forests, and recent new approaches on the sustainable use of genetic resources for the resilience of future’s forests with emphasis in novel, emergent experimental tools.
