Facing the climatic change: the rol of forests and forest products as carbon sinks
Abstract
The relationship between some signals of a possible climatic change, the increase of the atmospheric levels of gases that origin the greenhouse effect and the declining of forests are briefly dealt with in the introduction. The function of tree stands as sinks of the carbon emissions is showed through summarized data referred to the european continent and an estimation for Spain, together with a reference to the missing sink. The role of forestation of new land and the sequestering of carbon inside the wood products are emphasized.Downloads
