Abstract

A total of 250 individuals belonging to three species of Prosopis (P. flexuosa, P. alba, and P. alpataco) were cultivated in a greenhouse. Two treatments were used: irrigation 1: 300 mm per year; Irrigation 2: 1,200 mm per year. After one year, three variables were statistically analized: pinna's lenght, growth in height and growth in diameter. The results show thath height, diameter and pinna's length are modified in all species and provenances studied in responce to irrigation. Individuals under irrigation 2 duplicate in diameter and height those under irrigation 1. The thickest stems were observed in Prosopis alba.
